NEW GENERAL SUPERIOR OF THE SOCIETY OF THE DIVINE WORD

July 4, 2018.

On July 4, 2018, the capitulars of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) gathered at the Centro Ad Gentes in Nemi, Italy, for the 18th General Chapter, today elected Fr. PAULUS BUDI KLEDEN, SVD as the 12th Superior General of the Society of the Divine Word.

Fr. Budi Kleden was born in Indonesia in 1965. He joined the Society of the Divine Word in 1985. He made his first profession of vows in 1987, then the perpetual vows in 1992. He was ordained a priest in 1993. He studied theology in San Gabriel (Austria). He was first assigned to Switzerland (1993 – 1996), then in the formation house in Ledalero (Indonesia). He was member of the Provincial Council in the ENDE Province (Indonesia), from 2005 – 2008. In 2012, he was elected as General Councillor. He continues in that capacity until he assumes the office of the Superior Genera in few months.

NUEVO SUPERIOR GENERAL DE LA CONGREGACIÓN DEL VERBO DIVINO

El 4 de julio de 2018, los capitulares de la Congregación del Verbo Divino (SVD), reunidos en el Centro Ad Gentes en Nemi, Italia, para el XVIII Capítulo General, eligieron hoy al P. PAULUS BUDI KLEDEN, SVD como el XII Superior General de la Congregación del Verbo Divino.

El P. Budi Kleden nació en Indonesia en 1965. Ingreso a la Congregación del Verbo Divino en 1985. Hizo su primera profesión de votos en 1987, luego los votos perpetuos en 1992. Fue ordenado sacerdote en 1993. Estudió teología en San Gabriel (Austria). Su primer destino misionero fue a Suiza (1993 - 1996), después se trasladó a la casa de formación en Ledalero (Indonesia). Fue miembro del Consejo Provincial de la Provincia ENDE (Indonesia), del 2005 al 2008. En 2012, fue elegido Consejero General. Va a continuar en ese cargo hasta que asuma el cargo de Superior General en pocos meses.
